Amber Beadwoven Necklace by Beadmask Amber Beadwoven Necklace by Beadmask
The centerpiece is a large amber cabochon, flanked by two smaller amber stones which have been carved with a scarab motif. The stones are set in hand beaded bezels, which feature vintage Italian glass beads in bronze along with beautiful and rare sterling silver plated seed beads.

Thanks! I still see all the flaws -- this is an older piece (2001) that I have re-worked the neckline at least 3x over -- but I still love it, and finally have the neckline at a point where I like it & can leave it alone ;)

Haha but of course. We are our own worst critic. XD
I still look at all my pieces and I'm like "yeah that's wrong... that is.. OMG WHAT DID I DO THERE?! O-O;;" but no one else sees them. XP
Yeah, I think I'd leave it alone too. It's absolutely beautiful so I wouldn't worry about it. ;D

LOL, definitely! Sometimes it's really hard for me to step back from that critical perspective in order to see my work as others do ... and while that sounds really harsh or self loathing, it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm constantly striving to improve/build upon my skills. For me, that learning process is one of the most satisfying aspects of being creative. Sometimes, I just have a hard time realizing when it's time to step away from a piece and let it be, and to take what I've learned and apply it to the next piece instead ;)

In the case of this necklace, I'm pronouncing it officially "done".

Haha I hear ya! XD
As you definitely should be! ^~^ I agree; my favorite thing about doing anything creative is tackling something challenging that I haven't done yet to overcome it and learn something new. Lol yeah, I had an art teacher in high school that would literally come over and take my pencil or my piece and give me a new piece of paper and tell me I was finished and to move on. XDDD

Good for you! It definitely looks done and super awesome!! :highfive:
