Leather Mermaid Crownby *Beadmask

Artisan Crafts / Leatherwork / Accessories

This original leather headpiece was hand crafted from premium tooling leather, and painted deep indigo. Washes of iridescent sapphire blue help to highlight the tooled scales. A series of vintage glass stones crown the forehead, surrounded by glass seed beads in shades of pale periwinkle, sapphire and cobalt.

The sides of the crown have a fin-like shape, and the outermost edges look like crashing waves. Rivers of seed beads cascade from the temples, and create an elegant frame for the wearer's face. All of the beadwork is hand sewn by me in the US, using high quality beads and stones.
